Okay, besides the DATID Oven problem (died after first self clean) for which we are still waiting for the first tech visit for diagnosis, we have a small issue with the DATID microwave oven as well. We bought the appliances a year back and only installed them in December 2012 (last month). It was then we noticed that the trim pieces for the MW Oven are incorrect and thus cannot be securely attached to the oven itself even though everything was shrink packaged together when we opened it. (Weird.)
IKEA tells me to contact Whirlpool, but Whirlpool tells me that cosmetic defects are only covered within the first 30 days of purchase or installation. Well, it was installed in December, but they require an installation receipt to prove that. My question for all those DIY installers (I'm sure there are many among IKEA fans), how would you go about producing an installation receipt?
